Ansgar Halbfas leading mid-century architectural visit for a celebrity to Donald Wexler's steel development house in Palm Springs, USA
Ansgar Halbfas highlights and explains the specific architectural qualities of the 'Steel Development House Number 2' built from steel and glass using a synthesis of prefabrication and both off-site and on site assembly. The house is based on a steel panel system already being used for school classrooms, and adapted for the harsh desert climate. A single library of prefabricated parts could be rapidly assembled into a wide variety of customized, affordable houses to meet the needs of the nuclear family. Guiding his clients to this and related loations is an important element of Ansgar Halbfas work communicating the quality and architectural language to be used in upcoming projects.
