with this project we have realized a paperless just in time planning and production. feel free to contact us, and learn from our research.
"all participating companies from germany, the netherlands, belgium and france made use of email, up to date browser technology and ftp clients. some of them were used to standardised data transfer through their competences as auto industry suppliers, but most of them used these technologies for the first time as a planning tool. all project partners were guided by the system to overall responsibility and awareness for the whole project.
insight into adjacent - as well as independent - details improoved the motivation in thinking and planning based on a more comprehensive level.
without restrictions of any kind, the conferences with the client or executing companies were supported by all plans and supporting documents independent from the order of the day. the fastness and reliability of traditional email was enhanced through a detailed user specific download protocol. this enabled the exact control of users and their request for information or data based on a timecode.
formats like iges (3d production data), dxf (2d production data) and postscript (plans and text) were used for data exchange. the 3d canvas layout was developed and verified based on vr-technologies.
problems resulting from the open planning come together with advantages i.e. the presence of the client and increased influence to all processes.
the use of direct access planning tools needs to be trained and developed.
if competition is not improper blurred, I privilege an open data modell, that will be improoved with further projects."
